This Mac has run DVD player fine in the past, no problems.
Hi all, how do you grab a screen from a DVD film? Ex2bot Registered Bot. Feb 20, 2003 #2 Hi, Paul! How to capture image from a movie (Media Player, RealPlayer/RealOne, DVD etc.) or a game screen? Video playing on Windows machine, no matter if it comes from a movie file, Internet, VCD or DVD, can not be captured by regular screen capture methods, because it is usually playing in a hardware overlay. The overlay it almost as if there was another, smaller screen in front of your regular Windows. Just inserting the DVD brings up the DVD Player and everything works fine, until I start a New Screen Recording under QuickTime. That grays out the screen and that's what gets recorded - gray. (This same thing started happening when I was using Snapz Pro X to do the capture.) Both techniques used to work fine. A screen capture tool lets you take a picture (or video) of what you see on your screen. There are a lot of built-in programs and free tools to capture your screen. But, if you need to take a lot of screenshots and want more flexibility and robust tools, Snagit is the best screen capture software.
